Professional Insight: The Angled Shelf Bracket is designed to create long, continuous runs of shoe storage along the bottom of your closet organizer layout. By angling the shelves, you maximize visibility while keeping the floor clear for hampers or cleaning.

Looking for vertical shoe towers? These brackets are often paired with our stackable shoe racks to create floor-to-ceiling shoe towers. If you are building a vertical unit, check out our specific guide below.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough Installation

Step 1: Prep the Shelf (Upside Down)

Installer Tip: Do not try to attach the brackets to the wall first. The easiest way to get the spacing right is to attach the brackets to the shelf while it is sitting upside down on the floor.

Place your shelf rails-down on a flat surface. Position your first bracket between the 2nd and 3rd slat from the end.

Critical Detail: For 16-inch deep shelves, ensure the top of the bracket is flush with the edge of the back rail. Use the Black screws for 12in shelves or Silver screws for 16in shelves.

Secure the brackets using the bottom holes. For shelf lengths 6ft. or greater it is recommended to use a 3rd bracket in the center of the shelf.

Step 2: Position & Mark the Wall

Flip the shelf over and hold it against the wall at your desired height. ( We recommend a minimum of 18 inches from the floor to allow for hamper space underneath). Place a level on the shelf to ensure it is perfectly straight.

While a helper holds the shelf in place, use your pencil to mark the bottom holes and trace the sides of all brackets on the wall.

Step 3: Mount Brackets to Wall

Remove the shelf from the wall and unscrew the brackets from the shelf.

Important: DO NOT discard these small mounting screws! You will need them again in Step 4 to re-attach the shelf.

Line up the loose brackets with the pencil marks you just made on the wall. Plumb level the bracket and mark the top hole locations. Drill your pilot holes (use the provided anchors if you aren't hitting a stud) and secure the brackets to the wall using the long #8 1-1/2 in. screws.

Step 4: Final Secure

Place your shelf back onto the now-mounted brackets, ensuring the front rail is facing up. The holes should line up perfectly since you pre-drilled them in Step 1.

Secure the shelf to the brackets re-using the small 1/2 in. screws at the lower bracket hole locations. For extra stability, you can use the optional 3/4 in. screws in the upper holes.
