Professional Insight: The JLH-552E Connector is the secret to creating continuous hanging space across long walls. By joining two garment bars together, you can extend your closet's hanging capacity well beyond the standard 6ft limit without sacrificing stability. This hardware is often essential when building out custom layouts using our wider shelf kits.
Planning a larger project? If you are connecting bars to span a wide wall, ensure your shelving above is properly secured. We recommend reviewing the full shelf kit installation guide to ensure your top shelf can support the weight of a fully loaded extended hanging rod.

Parts Checklist
- Connector: (1)
- Tension Washers: (4)
- Connector Screws: (2)
Step-by-Step Walkthrough Installation
Step 1: Hardware Preparation
Action: Locate the (2) Connector Screws and (4) Tension Washers. Place two (2) Tension Washers onto each Connector Screw. These washers act as a locking mechanism to prevent the bars from wobbling or separating over time.

Step 2: Insert Connector Into Both Bars
Action: Insert the Connector into the open end of your first Garment Bar until it lands flush with the center stop.
Action: Insert the Connector into the open end of your second Garment Bar until it lands flush with the center stop.

Step 3: Tighten Bars
Action: To secure the connection, grip both bars firmly and rotate them in opposite directions—turning one bar clockwise and the other bar counter-clockwise. Continue twisting until both bars tighten securely against the connector's center stop.
