A.A. In a 5-foot wide room (60 inches), having 16-inch shelves on both side walls leaves approximately 28 inches of open walkway down the middle, which is plenty of space to turn around and reach items comfortably. If your pantry width is closer to 4 feet (48 inches), trimming side shelves down or offsetting shelf positions gives you the walking clearance you need.

Q.Q. In what order should the three walls be installed?

A.A. Always install your main back wall first. Once the back shelves are leveled and screwed into wall studs, butt the left and right side shelves directly against the front rail of the back shelf using the included corner brackets.

Q.Q. Why choose 4 shelves instead of 5 for a U-shaped layout?

A.A. Go with four shelves if you keep bulky kitchen gear in your pantry. Spacing four shelves out across an 8-foot wall gives you the taller clearance needed for stand mixers, tall stockpots, and big food containers without bumping into the shelf above.

Q.Q. Can I trim the shelves down if my pantry measurements are uneven?

A.A. Yes. You can cut the solid wood shelves with a basic hand saw to match your walls. The clear acrylic liners cut easily with household scissors, and the included metal end brackets cover the cut wood edges cleanly.
